In Pass Interference, director Branson Wright explores the life of Bess from his birth to a teenage mother, to an All-Star in high school, time in juvenile detention and the rise from college star to an NFL career with the Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns. 

But Bess’s life is a cautionary tale on how mental health is often overlooked, especially when it comes to athletes because physical prowess does not always tell the entire story.
